One Thing You Can Do Every Day to Relieve Stress
Gratitude is a mindset that can be learned. Yoga helps us tap into a grateful mindset by allowing us to slow down and soften during the flow. This subtly tunes us into our feelings and helps stretch our perception of time — and I think we all could use a little slowing down in our daily routines.
Try this simple practice first thing when you get into work. You can do it in just 4–6 minutes — the time it takes for your Stress Less herbal supplement to steep. Doing this early will set you up for a fantastic work day.
Sit at your desk or another quiet spot. Stretch a little side to side and sit however you want — as long as you feel comfy. This breathing exercise is a great for stress relief. Close your eyes and turn your attention to your breath. Observe your inhales and exhales as they come and go. If you notice yourself thinking, that’s OK—just draw your attention back to your breath. Do this for a few moments, relaxing into your breath. Now start to take a mental account of everything you're grateful for in your life. Your list can be long or short; it’s up to you (though it may be longer than you think!). After you’ve finished, come back to your breath for a few moments. When you’re ready, gently open your eyes and proceed with your work day.
